PEPTIDES+ MEMBERS ONLY
INDICATIONS FOR USE
Selank is a synthetic peptide derived from tuftsin, studied for its anxiolytic, neuroprotective, and nootropic properties. It is used off-label to manage anxiety, improve cognitive function, and support emotional regulation.
ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION
Intranasal spray.
COMMON INITIAL DOSING REGIMENS
250–1,000 mcg intranasally, administered 1–2 times daily.
MECHANISM OF ACTION
Selank modulates the immune system and neurotransmitter activity, particularly by regulating serotonin levels. It enhances brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which supports cognitive function and neuronal health. Selank’s anti-anxiety effects are linked to its ability to stabilize enkephalins, endogenous peptides involved in stress response.
COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
Mild: Nasal irritation or mild headaches.
Neurological: Rare cases of drowsiness or overstimulation.
Immunological: No significant long-term side effects have been reported, but data is limited.
Rare: Hypersensitivity reactions or transient mood alterations.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Absolute: Hypersensitivity to Selank or its formulation components.
Relative: Patients with autoimmune disorders should use caution due to its immunomodulatory effects. Its safety profile in pregnant or breastfeeding women has not been established.
DISCLAIMER
Selank is not FDA-approved and is considered experimental outside specific regulatory approvals in Russia.
